Former Comedy Duo Seth Rogen
Seth Rogen has revealed that he is no longer in contact with James Franco and does not intend to collaborate with him again.
Once known as a close-knit comedic pair, Rogen and Franco built a strong friendship over the years. However, their relationship became distant following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct made against Franco in 2018. Speaking recently to The New York Times, Rogen shared that it has been a long time since they last spoke and confirmed there are no plans to work together in the future. He added that his stance on the situation has remained unchanged.
The two actors first crossed paths on the cult television series “Freaks and Geeks,” where Rogen was just 16 and Franco was 21. Their careers later flourished, and they became widely recognized for their collaborations in popular comedies such as “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End,” and “The Disaster Artist.”
Franco’s successful run in Hollywood came under scrutiny when five women, including some of his former acting students, accused him of inappropriate and exploitative behavior. Allegations included misconduct during filming of intimate scenes and pressuring actresses regarding nudity. In 2019, two accusers filed a class-action lawsuit citing sexual harassment, discrimination, and other claims. The case was eventually settled in 2021 for $2.2 million.
Rogen has previously expressed regret over earlier comments suggesting he might work with Franco again after the accusations surfaced. In a 2021 interview with The Sunday Times, he emphasized his strong opposition to abuse and harassment, stating that he would never knowingly support or enable such behavior. He clarified that he has not worked with Franco since and has no intention of doing so.
Despite addressing the professional distance, Rogen remains reserved about discussing the personal details of their relationship. He described the situation as deeply personal and complex, noting that while his public position is clear, there are private aspects he prefers not to share.
Meanwhile, Rogen continues to thrive in his career. His recent project, “The Studio,” which he created and stars in, has been highly successful, earning multiple awards and moving forward with a second season.
